Longthorns Farm is a small working farm nestled next to Monkey World. The atmosphere is unique to say the least; the morning may bring the sound of Chimpanzees, Gibbons, Lemurs or the boom of tanks as they go about their military exercises.

Longthorns site suits all types of camping. We offer a well-maintained, level site in an un-spoilt atmosphere. You will not find regimented pitches. Fire pits are allowed, conditions apply. On the farm we keep Alpacas, Jersey cross cattle, a few chickens and lastly the horses.

Our aim is to provide quality camping and accomodate for all of your basic needs. We offer Glamping holidays in our Tipis and Shepherds Huts. Our Honesty Shop, April – September is on site stocking free range eggs, tea, coffee, sugar, bacon, sausages and most importantly marsh mallows to toast around the fire. We allow fires which can be hired.

The site is well fenced, with a beautiful backdrop of trees setting the scene, all you would expect to find in the Purbecks. Perfectly located to access the Jurassic Coast with all it’s attractions and beautiful scenery.

Whitemead Caravan Park

East Burton Road, Wool, Wareham

Whitemead Caravan Park in Wool, is a stunning family run park found in 51/2 acres of the most beautiful countryside. We take Caravans, Motorhomes, Tents, Campervans and Trailer Tents. The park offers 104 pitches electric, non electric, grass and hardstanding pitches. Facilities available for guests include heated toilet and shower blocks, a laundrette, washing up area.  Wi-Fi is also available (enquire at reception).  There is a games room and children’s play area.  There is an on-site shop stocking camping essentials and groceries.  Pets allowed. Monkey World and The Tank Museum are a short car drive away.  Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door 5 miles away.  Excellent walking and cycling.  Rallies welcome.

Merley Court Holiday Park

A tranquil park with woodland lodges and camping pitches.

You’ll find the best of Dorset’s scenery right on your doorstep, from the sandy beaches at Bournemouth to the New Forest and countryside.

Facilities on park include the Atrium, offering a delightful indoor seating area which opens onto a courtyard, a fully stocked shop for all your essentials and a laundrette. In summer you can enjoy use of the heated outdoor swimming pool (weather dependent, times and dates vary). Free Wi-Fi is available across the park for all guests.

The parkland setting offers a range of pitch choices, all of which have electric hookup as standard.

In a secluded woodland area of the park you’ll find stunning self-catering lodges, many of which feature hot tubs on the outdoor decked area. Equipped with everything you could need, these luxury lodges feature double glazing, central heating, fully fitted kitchens and all your home comforts. Beds are made for your arrival and there’s plenty of space for the whole family to relax in the spacious lounge and dining areas.

The park is mainly flat, level parkland and Reception is accessible via a gently sloped pathway, however there are a small number of steps to access the lodge accommodation (usually around 4-5 steps). There is a purpose-built disabled suite including shower, toilet and wash basin in the facility block. Unfortunately, there is currently no disabled access to the swimming pool.

Wilksworth Caravan Park

Cranborne Road, Wimborne, Dorset, BH21 4HW

Escape to the Dorset countryside at this stunning camping park, centred around a 16th Century, Grade II listed building once owned by Henry VIII and featured in the Doomsday Book.

Featuring wide lawns framed with trees and views of the surrounding countryside, the park is a peaceful retreat from everyday life. Choose from a range of well-maintained pitches, all pitches of which come with electric hookup as standard, making them perfect for any camping our touring getaway.

There’s plenty of family-fun to be had on the park, including a football field, tennis courts, children’s play area and modern shop stocked with all your essentials. In summer (opening times and dates vary) enjoy use of the heated outdoor swimming pool on site and shallow splash pool.

Alternatively, Tudor Rose House offers a little more luxury, with five bedrooms (sleeps 10) and a secluded private garden with private hot tub.
