Fingle Bridge

Liz and Colin invite you to enjoy comfortable, spacious accommodation in their peaceful, stream-side home, set in the village of Wool, approximately 1.6 miles from Monkey World.

We have 2 rooms available, Bedroom 1 is a twin/super king double with en-suite bathroom featuring a bath and separate shower cubicle. Bedroom 2 is a large family room with a super king double ( which can separate into 2 full size singles), and 2 further full size singles. There is also room for a small child’s bed or a travel cot. There are also 2 reclining chairs. The en-suite bathroom has a bath with shower over.  Both rooms are equipped with central heating, freeview TV, hot drinks, mini fridges with fresh milk and chilled water, hair dryers and free wi-fi.

Fingle Bridge is situated in approximately 1 acre of grounds and garden half a mile from Wool Railway Station, and has off road parking and secure garage facilities for cycles and motor bikes.

Breakfast is served in the dining room which opens on to the stream-side terrace. Watch the antics of our ducks  and moorhens as you enjoy a full English breakfast and Liz’s bread and preserves. Vegetarian and gluten free available.

We are within a short walk of 2 pubs in the village, both of which serve evening meals.  The Post Office and Spar shop, which also sells take-away food, is also just a 5 minute walk away.

While staying with us, enjoy a visit to the many other local attractions including the Tank Museum at Bovington, Lawrence of Arabia’s Cottage, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door and the sandy beaches at Weymouth, Swanage and Studland Bay.  We have a range of guide books and brochures and will be happy to help you plan your days.

The Withies

The Withies is our family home situated in the centre of Wool village which we also operate as a two roomed bed & breakfast exclusively for adults with off road parking and secure garage facilities for cycles. Wool mainline train station is situated 0.4 miles from us. Taxis are available at the station.

We have a great selection of visitor attractions on our door step. Less than two miles to both Monkey World and the Tank Museum and with bus links to Wareham, Poole, Dorchester, Weymouth and Lulworth Cove, we are ideally located as a base from which to explore Dorset. We have a variety of brochures and guide books to help you plan your stay and we look forward to welcoming you.

All guest accommodation is situated on the first floor accessed directly off the landing. Our accommodation comprises of a Super King/Twin room and a standard Double room, each with Freeview TV, free Wi-Fi, tea and coffee making facilities and en-suite or private bathroom. Breakfast is served in the dining room where you can enjoy a varied menu including a full traditional English breakfast and vegetarian alternatives. Locally sourced produce is used wherever possible.

Wool has a good range of local amenities all in close proximity to The Withies including several shops and two local pubs, both of which serve evening meals.

The Old Mill Bed & Breakfast

The Old Mill Bed & Breakfast, The Old Mill, West Street, Bere Regis, Dorset BH20 7HS

The Old Mill is a new Bed & Breakfast run by David and Lorna, ably assisted by our 2 daughters and our laid back chocolate Labrador Jenson. We aim to give you a warm welcome and a comfortable stay in the heart of Hardy’s Dorset.

Our home is the miller’s cottage of the former water mill which we renovated over the winter of 2011/2012. We created four brand new bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms within the 18th C. building, all equipped with period furniture and restored antique beds. We offer modern facilities and comfort within a delightful period property. Some of the traditional mill features, including the original mill race in the Breakfast Room, have been retained.  We have three alpacas in our paddock and our hens provide your breakfast eggs. Ollie and Bandit the Shetland Ponies also call home here. However, they sometime have a holiday elsewhere.

Enjoy English or Continental breakfast with home-made jams, marmalade and free-range eggs.  You can eat in our Breakfast Room, or on our patio just outside. We offer free Wi-Fi and have plenty of off road parking for everyone.

Bere Regis, with its two pubs, is central in Dorset and on the main A31 route, near to the market towns of Dorchester and Wareham and only 12 miles from Poole.  This makes our B&B an ideal base in Dorset or a convenient stop-over to and from other destinations.

Not only are we close to Monkey World, we are also near to Kingston Lacy, Athelhampton House, Corfe Castle and the Tank Museum amongst many other Wessex attractions.
