A-mei had terrible dental problems when she came to the park and has had two operations to remove and root-fill infected teeth. She is a sociable orang-utan who likes interacting with other individuals, especially the youngsters.

However, when she was seen for the first time it was Hsiao-quai who was carrying the baby.  Awan was taken from Hsiao-quai to see if Hsiao-lan would take her baby and care for her but she was not interested.  Awan was given back to Hsiao-quai, who is a wonderful mother and was already feeding her 3 year old son, Jin.  Awan means “cloud” in Indonesian. Awan is a very confident and playful individual.
