International Orang-utan Day

Help us celebrate all things orangutan, with stalls, fun trails, and talks.
On the 19th August, Monkey World is celebrating our orange cousins! Visitors can learn about these amazing creatures and their plight in the wild.
Compare your arm span to an orangutan, make some fun food feeders and learn about the devastating palm oil industry- as well as seeing our 15 orangutans! Bring in old clean socks and small plastic bottles to recycle into fun feeders for our orangutans.

As well as all of this, there will be entertainment from Ukelele band “Uke Box Glory” at 2:15pm. Follow signs on the day to find all the activities!

The orangutans live in three groups, which includes Europe’s official orangutan crèche, where orphaned youngsters can grow up with their own kind.
