How You Can Help

We are so grateful to hear that people would like to support Monkey World! As a rescue centre, our funds are focussed on rescuing primates from around the world but we have huge shopping bills for the primates at the park too- so every little does really help!

There are a few ways you can do help. You can of course donate funds directly to the park:

  • Donate to the Ape Rescue Trust here
  • Donate to our GoFundMe appeal to buy insects for our primates

You can also help out by donating items we need for our primates:

  • Our Amazon Wish List contains urgent items, and specific items we need for the primates. Items are sent directly to us here at the park, so please include your contact details in the Gift Note section! NB** You may need to manually enter our address for delivery: Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre, Longthorns, Wareham, Dorset BH20 6HH
  • Asda E-gift cards are really helpful, to assist with our weekly shopping bills. They can be bought direct from the Asda website and emailed to us at MWoffice@monkeyworld.org. we can then buy all the items we need to be delivered direct to us here!
  • Vitacure.co.uk provide support to the park through matching any donations of probiotics bought. We need approx. 3000 probiotics a month so this is a great help. Use the code MWX2 to get the order automatically delivered to the park, and for Vitacure to double up your order!
  • Novomins.com have a fantastic gummy joint supplement we use for our chimps- they need two a day! With the code monkeyworld35 our supporters get 35% off the retail price. Please use the BH20 6HH postcode for delivery.
  • Set up a supermarket delivery, with food listed below.

Other ways to support us:

  • Adopt a primate! It’s the best way to stay in touch with the park and news of rescues, as well as giving the adoptive parent a host of benefits, including an annual entry pass to the park, a certificate, photo, 3 newsletters a year and access to supporter only events and accommodation!
  • Buy gifts, entrance vouchers, or Monkey Money to spend at the park. Call us on 01929 462537 (Mon-Fri, 9-4pm) to do so.

All funds from adoptions, legacies, the GoFundMe campaign, and the donation option on our gift shop go into the Ape Rescue Trust, a 100% fund used solely for the rescue and care of the monkeys and apes at Monkey World, with NO administrative costs removed.

Thank you so much for your support and help. We thank you for helping us to protect our primate family!

Chimps Taking Their Gummy Vitamins

We have a huge shopping list to ensure all 260 primates at the park are healthy and well. If you would like to support us by donating any food during your visit, or in a cardboard box appeal, we’d really appreciate the items listed below.

We often get asked whether we can take bedding items for our primates. Some items are useful for warmth and enrichment, but we often receive items we cannot use for the health of our primates. Unfortunately, sorting through these items takes our staff away from the primates, and keeping these items whilst we try to rehome the donations fills the little storage space we have. We would kindly ask our supporters to check the following lists before bringing any bedding donations.

Items gratefully received:

  • Duvet covers
  • Pillow cases
  • Fleece blankets

Items we cannot use:

  • Crochet blankets
  • Duvets
  • Sleeping bags
  • Pillows
  • Cuddly toys
  • Incontinence pads
  • Sheets
  • Towels
  • Socks

  • Mattress protectors
  • Clothes
  • Footwear
  • Underwear
  • Suitcases

Amazon Wishlist

If you are further afield, but would still like to help, we update our Amazon wishlist regularly with all the items needed at the park. These range from the ever needed insects and seeds for our small monkey groups, to nuts and kongs for the apes, and even training pouches for our primate care team during operant conditioning training sessions.

All items purchased from our wishlist are delivered directly to the park, so please remember to include your contact details in the Gift Note section. We can then let you know your goodies have safely arrived, and thank you for them!

Fundraising & Donations

Ape Rescue Trust

One of the best ways to support our work here at Monkey World is by adopting a primate. All funds raised from adoptions go directly into the Ape Rescue Trust, a 100% fund used solely for rescuing and rehabilitating primates in need, with no administration costs removed.

Alternatively, you can donate directly by buying a donation on our web-shop to the Ape Rescue Trust.

If you wish to make an ongoing donation to the Ape Rescue Trust, you can set up a regular standing order. Please download the below form and return directly to your bank, or use the details on the form to set up the standing order online.

You can also make a cheque payable to the ‘Ape Rescue Trust’ and send to Monkey World – Ape Rescue Centre, Longthorns, Wareham, Dorset, BH20 6HH, or add a donation to an online giftshop order on check out.
